The game is very easy to play with: we have to choose a color from the palette, place the colorful blocks on the irregular grid and watch Townscaper’s underlying algorithm automatically turn those blocks into houses, arches, stairways, bridges and backyards. As of now, it's a bare-bones click-and-bu. Game artist Oskar Stalberg, the developer and designer of the game wanted to offer more of a toy than a game – Townscaper focuses on the joy of building plus a sound effect that adds another degree of satisfaction. Townscaper is an procedural generation city-building toy with an oceanic, medieval aesthetic and minimalist design. If you’re looking for a new obsession or a nice little title to play during lunch breaks or just before bed, Townscaper is the soothing sandbox town. The game invites players to create charming villages, large cathedrals or sky cities on stilts, while they establish roads and canal networks.
